Can’t believe it’s the end of the school year already. No more mornings rushing to make sure everyone is up, dressed, eating, and out the door on time. No more homework, no more tests, and ready for a summer of fun. There are only a few summers left before they’re off on their own.
For our family, we’re celebrating that we survived freshman year! add in a pandemic and we all deserve a huge celebration (parents too!)
I’m always looking for ways to add a little fun and the last day of school deserves some extra attention. This isn’t a day to go all out (unless it’s senior graduation).
6 Ways to Celebrate the Last Day of the School Year for Teenagers
One: Surprise your kids with a special breakfast. Donuts in school colors are always a fun surprise (check out my easy DIY for adding colored icing to donut shop donuts).
Two: Stop for coffee drinks on the way to school
Three: Go out for ice cream after school. Invite a few friends to join.
Four: Invite friends over for pizza. Make it an all-nighter and have a few friends sleep over.
Five: Give them a bag of treats or small gifts they can take to school to share with friends – candies, flowers, bracelets (inexpensive simple bracelets),
Six: Surprise them with a basket of summer fun. Fill up a basket (or beach bag) with summer snacks, drinks, bathing suits, and a towel.
