With Stars Wars™: The Force Awakens opening in theaters in less than a week, we’re getting excited. What’s the perfect way to get ready for the release? We’re hosting a Star Wars™ Trilogy movie marathon party for my son and a few of his friends.

Who’s your favorite character? My son loves Darth Vader and Chewbacca. My favorites are C-3PO and R2-D2. My son loves to dress up for movie viewing – I’m sure he’ll pull out his Darth Vader costume for the occasion.

Anytime I’m hosting a bunch of boys, I need to be prepared with lots of snacks.  It’s going to be a full day marathon so we need lots of food – boys sure can eat! I picked up the ingredients to make movie snack mix including Star Wars™ Cinnamon Toast Crunch™ cereal. The box comes with a Star Wars™: The Force Awakens exclusive Droid Viewer which my son thought was super awesome – our box came with the Pz-4co Droid. There are 6 Droid viewers to collect in specially marked General Mills Cereals. Each viewer has an image from the upcoming movie.

This party mix is so simple. And who doesn’t need simple when you’re getting ready to host a bunch of boys at your house. To make it even simpler, purchase pre-popped popcorn and then no cooking is required. Add the ingredients to a bowl, mix, and enjoy!

Galactic Crunch Movie Mix

INGREDIENTS

4 cups popped popcorn
1 cup Star Wars™ Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal
1 cup black and gray candy-coated chocolate candies such as Sixlets and M&Ms
1 cups pretzels (Snaps)
1 cup mini marshmallows

INSTRUCTIONS

PREP TIME: 5 minutes (plus time to pop popcorn)

SERVING SIZE: 1 cup

*it is best to make this mix fresh on the day it will be served.
Step 1: Pop popcorn (or purchase pre-popped) and add to a large bowl.

Step 2: Add the Star Wars™ Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal to the bowl.

Step 3: Add the rest of the mix-ins and stir to combine.

Plastic partyware cups make the perfect serving container – individual servings to help reduce the mess. The black cups I purchased are perfect for our themed movie marathon party.

I also purchased Star Wars™ Go-Gurts® for the boys. Boys eat A LOT so I need to be prepared. We freeze the Go-Gurts making it a frozen treat and less messy. Though I’m sure the boys will pretend they’re lightsabers…boys will be boys.

I picked up the Star Wars™ Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Star Wars™ Go-Gurts along with drinks for the boys at Walmart.

How are you celebrating the release of Star Wars™: The Force Awakens on December 18th? Be sure to check out this post for more great Star Wars™ recipe ideas.
