Scottsdale’s Balloon Spooktacular [Things to do in Phoenix]

By: Dana Michele

Scottsdale Hot Air Balloon Spooktacular

Last night my son and I headed out to Salt River Fields in Scottsdale for the Balloon Spooktacular. Hot air balloons, tethered balloon rides, trick or treating, bounce houses, food, costume contests, fireworks and more. Spooktacular is a 2-day event (October 27th-28th) so you can still make it out there tonight.

Spooktacular trick or treating

My son LOVES to dress up. So he was super excited to dress up. There were costume contests on the main stage but unfortunately, we arrived too late to enter. There were some great and creative family costumes – maybe next year I’ll dress up too!

Every balloon had candy and B filled his bucket up. After collecting his treats, he went off to the inflatables – there were bounce houses, slides, and courses. I was impressed by how many there were and with that barely any lines.

My favorite part was enjoying the beauty of the balloons at night. Especially when they did FLICKER and all the balloons turned their flames on and off. Amazing.

The event ended with fireworks. Such a fabulous event, fun for the entire family. The weather was perfect too – even though are days are sitll hot, the evenings are cooling off nicely.
