Tempe Festival of Lights Boat Parade

By: Dana Michele

We may live in the desert, but our city can throw a pretty awesome holiday boat parade. Before moving to Arizona, I’ve always lived near the coast and holiday boat parades were always a holiday tradition – love the lights and more love the community support. It’s always a big party.  This past weekend was Tempe’s Fantasy of Lights Boat Parade on Tempe Town Lake. Tempe’s boat parade is best viewed from Tempe Beach park as the boats travel the lake. This is the only time each year when motorized boats are permitted.

Santa arrived in the last boat

Besides the boat parade, there were visits with Santa, Food Trucks, vendor booths and a concert stage.

Fireworks were the grand finale to the event
