Continuing with our Things to Do With Teens in Scottsdale Series, today we’re chatting about our favorite place in Phoenix (Scottsdale and surrounding cities) for over-the-top milkshakes, ZuZu at the Hotel Valley Ho.
As our kids become teenagers, it can be harder to find ways to connect with them. They’d rather hang out with their friends or stay home and play video games. One of my favorite things to do with my son (and he enjoys it too) is to go out to eat. It’s an even bigger win if it involves dessert. It’s become a tradition now to go to the Hotel Valley Ho each month to try their new milkshake creation. Not only is the food delicious, the resort gorgeous, but it’s great one on one time with my son. In just over 3 years he will be graduating and moving on and I cherish the moments I spend with him.
Hotel Valley Ho, BEST Place for Over The Top Milkshakes in Scottsdale, AZ
For several years now, chefs as ZuZu at the Hotel Valley Ho have been creating amazing milkshake creations. Each month they create a brand new themed shake. It’s more than just a milkshake – there are often cupcakes, cookies, popsicles, and even a slice of pie piled on top. Often my favorite part is the yumminess on the tray- chocolates, candy clusters, crumbles….all more deliciousness. Definitely a sharable experience.
Show Stopper Shake of the Month, April 2021
Reese’que Business is our “Show Stopper” Shake for April, peanut butter and chocolate shake topped with Butterfinger candy, Reese’s Pieces and Cups, magic shell peanut butter, a Butterfinger ice cream bar, and peanut butter Cocoa Pebbles.
$1 of each shake sold will go to Arizona Helping Hands, Arizona’s largest provider of essential needs for children in foster care.

The Shakes can be ordered in the ZuZu restaurant inside the Hotel Valley Hotel. Hotel Valley Ho is a popular resort in south Scottsdale with a fun mid-century design. They also have patio dining if you prefer to eat outside. They also now have ‘Short’ Stoppers, a collection of 3 smaller shakes each month.
We usually order brunch or lunch first and then share a shake. We LOVE their food so even though the shakes are huge, we can’t miss out on their food. A few of our favorites at the chocolate chip pancakes, avocado toast, ZuZu burger (one of my favorites in Phoenix-Scottsdale), and the lobster roll. Yummy cocktails too – Mango Tango and their latest bourbon cocktail.
