April Fools Pranks to Play on Your Teens

By: Dana Michele

April Fool’s Day. A day to get back at your teens. Don’t go too overboard or they make take revenge.

We love celebrating holidays big and small. Silly holidays and traditional cultural holidays. It’s just a way to add fun for our family, create memories, and break up the day-to-day monotony.

Ever wondered how this day started? You can read more about the origins of April Fools’ Day here

16 April Fools’ Day Jokes to Play on Your Teens

One: Move their clocks one hour ahead so they get ready for school an hour early

Two: Put a fake spider in their shower

Three: Broken Phone Screen. Download a broken screen wallpaper (just google, there are lots of options) or one of the Broken Screen apps and upload it to their phone

Four: Cut out a bunch of Es from brown paper and leave them on a plate telling them there are brownies waiting for them in the kitchen

Five: Swap (carefully) and few keys on their keyboard

Six: Fill a donut box with vegetables and leave it out on the counter

Seven: Move their car so they think it’s been stolen (just make sure you are there before they report it that it was stolen)

Eight: Replace their underwear with ones that are a few sizes smaller

Nine: Pack their lunch with a sandwich in a ‘moldy’ sandwich bag

Ten: If April 1st falls on a Saturday or Sunday, wake them up by telling them they’re late for school

Eleven: Freeze their breakfast (cereal with milk is perfect for this) and remove it right before they step into the kitchen.

Twelve: Add food coloring to the milk carton (milk cartons and not plastic jugs). They’ll be shocked when they pour a bright-colored drink into their cereal.

Thirteen: Stuff tissue paper in the toes of their shoes. When they try to put on their shoes, they’ll think their feet grew overnight

Fourteen: Put a fake roach in their lunchbox

fake bugs

Fifteen: Put a helium-filled balloon in their toilet with the seat down so it will float up when they lift the seat in the morning. You can even write “Aprils Fools” on it with a Sharpie

Sixteen: Fill an empty Hot Cheetos bag with baby carrots

Do you have a favorite joke you like to play on your kids? We’d love to hear it
