Need an easy but fun Easter dessert that the kids will love? These Peeps chicks cupcakes are perfect. Working seasonal candies is a great way to come up with easy designs. When someone mentions Easter, Peeps are the first thing that comes to mind.
Here’s what you need:
- baked cupcakes
- decorator icing (Wilton’s buttercream icing recipe works great)
- green gel color (I love Americolor’s leaf green)
- decorator tip (tip #233, AKA ‘hair tip’)
- disposable decorating bag
- Peeps marshmallow chicks
- Easter egg or flower sprinkles
Bake cupcakes and let cool. Make your buttercream icing and the color green. Separate Peeps Marshmallow chicks into individual pieces (I like to use kitchen scissors or a knife instead of pulling apart to maintain their shape).
Setup your icing bag with the tip and fill with icing. Because only 1 tip is required for this design, I skip using a coupler to keep things simple.
Squeeze some icing into the center of the cupcake and use to it stick the chick onto the center of the cupcake.
Pipe grass all over the cupcake until you fill the entire exposed surface.
Add egg or flower sprinkles and enjoy!
