Craving something sweet while shopping?
Want to do something fun with your kids?
Looking for ideas to celebrate your kid’s birthday?
Build-A-Bear Workshops will always remind me of a special memory. For my son’s 1st birthday we headed to the mall and my son built his first bear. We put the Happy Birthday song chip in it to commemorate the occasion. I know many of you have special memories and building bears (or many of the other animals now available) at the workshops.
Build-A-Bear Bakeshop now open at Arrowhead Town Center
12 years later, Arrowhead Town Center has added a Build-A-Bear Bakeshop just last week (mid-December). This is the Bakeshop’s 4 location, 1st in Arizona. The 4 locations are:
Mall of America, MN
West County Center, MO
Florida Mall, FL
Arrowhead Town Center, AZ (now open!)
What’s a Build-A-Bear Bakeshop? A new shop at the mall that offers sweet treats and the chance to decorate your own masterpiece.
Arrowhead is the closest shopping mall to where I live in NW Phoenix. It’s great to have a place to stop for a sweet treat after a day of shopping (or as a great bribe to get my son to go shopping with me…teens!).
As many of my readers know, I used to own a custom cake shop (that’s the Sweet Shoppe in Sweet Shoppe Mom). I was so often asked if I would host kid’s birthday parties. As much as I would have loved hosting parties and letting kids play with icing and sprinkles, I didn’t have the resources to do that in addition to running my custom cake business. Now there’s a place to host cupcake parties – Build-A-Bear Bakeshop at Arrowhead Town Center. Check back this summer too – they may be offering summer camp!
What I love most is that Build-A-Bear has partnered with local businesses. The sweets are made by local bakery Baker Wee. The milk (one of the drink options….cold milk is the perfect accompaniment for cookies and cupcakes) is my favorite Danzeisen Dairy (my son LOVES their root beer and chocolate milk).
disclosure: I was hosted for a media tour of the new Build-A-Bear Bakeshop so that I could share it with my readers. All opinions are my own.
