The BEST Buttermilk Waffles

April 22, 2018 By: dmvollmercomment

Weekends are for lazy mornings and a home cooked breakfast shared with family. We LOVE pancakes and waffles. Freshly cooked from scratch. I have a favorite vegan recipe for myself (will share that in a future post) and my son loves my Buttermilk Waffles that I’ve been making him for years. The key to a perfect recipe – buttermilk and butter.

Gather the ingredients.

Mix it all together in one bowl.

Pour into the waffle iron.

enjoy! Don’t forget the maple syrup! (make sure to use real maple syrup….its sooooo good!)

Buttermilk Waffles instructions

Step 1: Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl.

Step 2: Mix in the wet ingredients.

Step 3: Pour into a waffle iron and cook until done (amounts and time depend on your waffle iron.). We love our Hamilton Beach Belgium waffle maker that I purchased from Amazon a few years ago.

Mom Tip – double or triple the batch and freeze the extras. During weekdays just pop in the toaster for a quick breakfast. When freezing spread on a baking sheet and place in freezer. When frozen, combine the waffles into a freezer bag. This prevents the waffles from sticking together.
