5 Boymom Essentials

By: Dana Michele

There’s nothing I love more than being a mom to my son. Being a #boymom brings with it unique adventures, challenges, and experiences. Baseball player. Science and nature lover. Collector of rocks, sticks, bones, and old rusty ‘treasures’ found in the desert. Lego creator and Nerf gun carrying kid.

Being a boymom

boymom essentials sharpies

Sharpies  I send my kid off to school or camp with supplies, water bottles, and clothes. For summer camp label the beach towel, water bottle and goggles if you ever want to see them again. But so often these do not come home. Label sand toys, playground toys and sports balls (because these go over the fence often and with a street of kids, it helps for these to find their way home again). The silver pens work great on dark surfaces. Labeling EVERYTHING is essential so that his belongings eventually make it back to him. However, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT, let the kids get a hold of the markers.  You have been warned.

boymom essentials baby wipes
Baby Wipes I buy these in bulk and keep a pack in the car and a pack in my bag for outings. We are long past the diaper stage but these are still essentials. My kid can get dirt (or some other mess) on his hands or face within minutes. Lover of sweets, eating ice cream or some other sticky sweet will get everywhere. Baby wipes to the rescue.

boymom essentials viva clorox

Paper towels and a bleach spray cleaner Viva® Vantage® towels and Clorox® Cleanup  Cleaner + Bleach helps to tackle those boy messes. Some days I feel like I just need to follow him around with paper towels and cleaners. Hand prints on doors. And the bathroom…need I say more.

boymom essentials tissues

Tissues Colds, allergies and bloody noses (with the Arizona dry heat these are becoming frequent). I keep a box in every bathroom and bedroom along with a pack always in my purse because noses always need to be wiped. Though he’d rather just use the sleeve of his shirt…

boymom essentials bandaids

bandaids Scrape and cuts. My son adds at least a new one every day so I’m never without a bandage. I keep a stock on both floors of my house, my purse, and the car.
