What’s more classic than PB&J?? I like to take things the extra step, making them more fun but nothing too complicated. I love to use cookie cutters – I have a huge collections in all sizes and shapes. Food on a stick – always fun. My viral Baseball Fruit Kabobs are a perfect example of that. After a long holiday break, today is back to school so lunches are on my mind.
Banana, Peanut Butter and Jelly Kabobs. Super fun, delicious lunch. My son LOVES these.
For this recipes I used my son’s favorite Jif Natural Spread Creamy Peanut Butter and Smucker’s Squeeze Grape Jelly. Spread the peanut butter and jelly on your bread just like a normal PB&J.
Then using a small round cookie cutter cut as many rounds as you can. I like to pick a size that is about the same diameter as a banana.
If you don’t have round cutters, just use a knife and cut the sandwich into squares or small triangles – any shape is fun. Don’t let the scrapes go to waste – we usually nibble on them while making lunch. For two skewers I cut out 8 mini sandwiches out of four pieces of bread.
I use skewers a lot of food – appetizers, snacks and lunches. I have a few different sizes. For the Banana, Peanut Butter & Jelly Kabobs I used long skewers. Slice the banana into 6 pieces, 3 for each skewer. Alternatively thread bananas and mini sandwiches onto each skewer. Adapt the recipe to the size skewer you are using. If packing for lunch, make sure it fits in your lunch container.
I LOVE Target. And that may be an understatement. They have everything I need, want and more. Awesome prices on groceries and so many of the brands I love. Love the home decor section and lots of great deals on clothing for my family.
They already have great prices on groceries but have you discovered Cartwheel? Its an app for your phone that helps you to save even more money. You can search the offers and add them to your list and then when you check out, your barcode is scanned to get the savings. You can also scan any tag while shopping to see if there is an offer you may have missed. I’ve found some great offers for groceries, pet food and clothing.
Right now there’s an awesome Cartwheel discount for Jif Peanut Butter Spreads and Smucker’s Fruit Spreads. So stock up now (through January 21st) and save 5%.
