I browsed, I shopped, I ate….
The Tempe Festival of Arts is a huge art festival held twice a year in Downtown Tempe. This the Fall’s festivals 48th year. This year there were a few changes including more beer & wine tents and the 6th + Mill Makers market. I’ve been going to the festival even before I moved to Arizona and missed the last few years but it was so great to be back this year.
The Artists
With over 300 artists booths, there was some much to see. I picked up a few things for my home and a few holiday gifts.
6th + Mill Makers
This was my favorite part of the festival. The new 6th + Mill Makers is a section of the market of all curated local artists. Standard Wax, Iconic Cocktail Co., The Shine Project, LetterCraft, Practical Arts… just to name a few favorites.
Entertainment
There were several stages throughout the festival with local bands performing and street performances including acrobats, musicians and more.
Chalk-A-Lot Street
Chalk Art. So fun to watch the art being created over the duration of the festival. There was also a smaller section open to anyone who felt inspired to create – chalk kits were available for purchase and families were creating their own masterpieces.
The Food
Festival food – caramel apples, kettle corn, cotton candy…it was all there.
Plus a Food Truck Alley.
And 3 Beer and Wine Gardens which featured local beer.
Mark your calendars now for the Spring 2017 Festival of Arts March 31st-April 2nd.
