I love creating traditions for my son that make holidays extra special. A few years ago I crafted a Halloween countdown for him.
I bought 31 small craft boxes from Michaels, painted them black, and then added paper, ribbons and stickers to make them fun. Each box has a number 1-31 for each day of the month of October. I attached magnets to the back of each box and I display them on some metal trays.
I’m always looking for small fun things to put in the boxes. I don’t like to put candy in every box because there’s already so much candy during October. This year I found a few fun things at Target and Michaels – Halloween post it notes, eyeball tape, Fall themed stamps, sticky eyeballs and some fun Halloween mini clothespins. From past years I also had some tatoos, eyeball bouncy balls, and vampire teeth. I also found some better options for candy from Whole Foods that I was quite excited about – Sweets candy corn, Surf Sweets gummies and TruJoy fruit chews.
