I enjoy crafting especially at local crafting events, classes or just with a group of girlfriends for a mom’s night out. My creative hobby used to be cake decorating. But when I opened Simply Sweets, it became my career and that changes things – its no longer a relaxing creative release. While I still love cake decorating when its your business you have deadlines and your customers decide on your designs. So I’ve been making sure to set aside time for crafting, mostly home and holiday decor and scrapbooking.
When I heard a ticket opened up for the Be Crafty Arizona I jumped at the chance. The event was held at Old Main building on the Arizona State Campus – its was such a gorgeous day I couldn’t help snapping a few photos of the campus.
There were 3 craft projects. I loved this chalkboard hoop – its made with chalkboard oil cloth which is a really cool fabric. Part of the class including chalkboard art instruction – I learned so much and can’t wait to fill my chalkboard pantry door with fun messages.
Another project was this yarn wrapped ampersand with crepe paper flowers.
What a fun day with such a fun group of women (photo source Be Crafty)
