It gets HOT here in Arizona and water play is a great way to stay cool outside in Phoenix – pools, splash pads, river rafting, and water parks.
There are a few water parks plus some community centers and resorts with water slides, lazy rivers, and more
Arizona’s water parks:
- Golfland Sunsplash, Mesa, AZ
- Six Flags Hurrican Habor, Glendale, AZ
- Big Surf Water Park, Tempe, AZ (closed for the 2021 summer season)
Living in Arizona and it’s HOT! so we spend a lot of time in our pool, at splash pads and water parks. We live very close to Six Flags Hurrican Harbor and usually get a yearly pass. Our Pogo Pass included one trip to SunSplash Golfland in Mesa so we decided to venture out and give it a try.
My son (he was 7 at the time) had a blast and his favorite part was the ropes across the pool (see photo above) – he loved it and did it over and over. The slides are a little older than some parks we’ve been to and they don’t bring the rafts to the top for you. Since this trip was just me and my son there were a few rides where I couldn’t carry the huge 4 person rafts by myself so we had to pass. We mostly did rides that didn’t use a raft – some of these were much faster than what I was used to at Hurrican Harbor – a little fast for me, but my son liked them. The kid areas are great – lots to do and plenty of seats for parents to sit and watch. Overall a fun day and maybe when the weather cools down, we’ll head down to try out the Golfland attractions.
