Butcher Box delivery day is always a good day.
The last few years I’ve been focusing on ways to simplify. Reduce the number of errands. Reduce the number of things I need to think about to keep our household running. As a single self-employed mom, sometimes I feel overwhelmed with all my responsibilities. I want to simplify. Focus on happiness. Focus on enjoying life. Not focusing on what groceries I need, what tasks need to be done, and if we need more toilet paper. I want to focus on spending time with my son. I want free time to spend doing things I enjoy.
Then the pandemic hit, which reinforced my desire to set up automatic home deliveries.
- Less time spent running errands
- Let time thinking about what groceries we need.

What is Butcher Box? Butcher Box is a meat subscription service that is delivered to your home. The high-quality meat is delivered pre-warped, individually frozen to your home monthly (or every two months depending on which plan you choose).
4 Reasons Why We Love Butcher Box Meat Delivery Subscription Service
One: Quality Meat
- Grass-fed, grass-finished beef
- Free-range organic chicken
- Heritage Pork
- Wild-caught seafood
Two: No trip to the store needed. The box is delivered right to your home. A few days before the box is prepared you to receive an email from Butcher Box so you can adjust what’s in your order as needed (or adjust ship date if needed). That’s it, just wait for your box to arrive. We live in Phoenix and our summers are HOT. When the temperatures are high, they take extra measures to ensure that your meat arrives frozen – every order has arrived frozen solid.
Three: Arrives pre-wrapped and frozen. The meat is already wrapped in meal-sized portions and frozen so as soon as it arrives you can stick it in your freezer. Grocery store trips take a long time because besides the time to drive and shop, once you get home you have to prep and divide the meat up for the freezer. Too often I’ve stuck the meat in the fridge and then had to toss it because it’s gone bad before I’ve gotten around to prepping it for the freezer.
Four: Budget. Because the box is a set price and arrives once a month, it’s easy to work it into my budget. I know exactly how much money I’m spending on meat each month. We are a smaller family and go with the smaller box and then plan our meals for the month around the box.
FREE Bacon for life (if you subscribe now through 7/11/2!)
Want to give it a try? Right now, Butcher Box is offering a FREE bacon for life. That means with every box you will get FREE bacon as long as you remain a member. Their bacon is the BEST bacon I’ve ever had.
Butcher Box Subscription box options
You can choose what variety of meats you would like in your Butcher Box – beef, pork, chicken, and seafood. Pick one or any combination of the 4.
You can also choose a la cart and select which meats you want in our box. We switched between a la cart and the all-beef box. Some months, it’s fun to let Butcher Box choose our meats because it forces me to get out the pattern of always cooking the same dishes.
They also offer add-ons such as bacon or seasonal meats (larger cuts for holiday meals). We often add on the bacon because it is the BEST bacon I’ve ever had.
