We love to create pumpkins that really fit our family’s interests. Because my son is obsessed with Fortnite I wanted to create something special for him.
I used a craft pumpkin so that we could save it and use it another year. These designs also work well on real pumpkins too.
Fornite Pumpkin instructions
materials needed for the Fortnite Gamer Pumpkin
- round craft pumpkin
- sky blue/turquoise craft or spray paint
- white vinyl, Oracle 651
Xbox Pumpkin instructions
materials needed for the Xbox Gamer Pumpkin
- round craft pumpkin
- silver metallic paint
- bright green craft paint or vinyl
Step 1: Paint pumpkin black (or use a black pumpkin) and allow to dry
Step 2: Sketch a circle on the front side of the pumpkin and paint with silver metallic paint. I find bowls work great when tracing circles onto a 3D round surface.
Step 3: Create a stencil for the X. I found the Xbox logo online, copied it to a google doc and printed it out (I used the smallest craft pumpkin size for this project). Cut out the pattern.
Step 4: Use the stencil to cut the vinyl.
Step 5: Apply vinyl to the pumpkin
helpful hint – When applying a flat shape to a curved surface you will get bubbles and wrinkles. Use a hair dryer to heat the vinyl and smooth with your finger.
