Never have a boring summer! This will be out 4th year creating Summer Bucket Lists. We love it.
I think it helps us to fill up our summer with fun things and not just get into a routine hanging out at home in front of the TV. We don’t always check off everything on the list but usually get pretty close. A few things consistently show up on the list every year and there’s always a few new things.
My son LOVES to cross things off the list as we accomplish each activity.
I like to make the list process extra special to build up the anticipation for a fun filled summer. First, we brainstorm on our chalkboard pantry door. Then I finalize the list typing it up and give it to my son in a bucket filled with some summer treats and toys.
My son is very excited to have ‘visit a National Park’ on the list. We visited the Grand Canyon last year and he got the passport book where you can collect stamps at each park you visit and he has plans to fill up the book. We haven’t decided on a park yet but that will be fun to research and plan.
