- Want to learn a little bit about me? I thought a list of 10 random facts would be fun
- Before becoming a cake decorator/sweet shoppe owner I was a scientist. My previous job was as a molecular biologist for a biotechnology company in San Diego.
- I grew up in King of Prussia, PA (aka “the mall” – home to a well know mall on the East Coast)
- In college I took a semester to do evolutionary ecological research on geckos in the South Pacific (Micronesia). While there when we went swimming I had to swim in a dress – their culture believes that a woman’s thigh must always be covered.
- I collect cookbooks and love to curl up in bed and read them. Last count 199!
- When I got married I went from a V to a B – still not used to having a name people can spell or paying attention right away when they call lists of names that are alphabetized.
- I’m a failure at baking bread. I can cook and bake many things but not bread.
- Can’t draw very well. Because of my cake designs, I’m considered artisit. Give me icing and I do well, give me pen, and my drawing isn’t so good. When I try to sketch my cake designs I think I scare my customers.
- I’m left handed. In a dominately right handed society this can be challenging sometimes. And I’m always in search of cooking supplies that work for me.
- I don’t like my fruits mixed. I love fruit but don’t care for any dessert where different fruits are mixed together.
- Can’t stand mushrooms, olives and beans. Makes it challenging when ordering Mexican food in a restaurant – I have to always remember to ask that they leave these ingredients out.
